Prytania Theater

The Prytania Theatre is over 100 years old and is the longest continually operated theatre in the South. It has been operated by the Brunet family for over 25 years. The Brunet family has been operating theaters in the New Orleans area for over 130 years! At any moment, you can find three generations of the Brunet family working in the theatre.

Krewe of Chewbacchus

The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus (IKoC) is a New Orleans based Mardi Gras parade organization for revelrous Star Wars Freaks, Trekkies, Whovians, Mega-Geeks, Gamers, Cosplayers, Circuit Benders, Cryptozoologists, UFO Conspiracy Theorists, Mad Scientists, and all Super Nerds.

Their mission? To save the galaxy by bringing the magical revelry of Mardi Gras to the poor, disenfranchised, socially awkward and generally weird masses who may have never had the opportunity to participate in a Mardi Gras Parade Organization, and aims to “elevate all aspects of Fandom and celebrate Carnival in our own unique way.” In short, “saving the galaxy, one drunken nerd at a time!”

Big Easy Con

Big Easy Con is a three-day inclusive pop culture convention celebrating the one-of-a-kind culture and people that make New Orleans one of the best cities in the world. Overlook Film Festival

The Overlook Film Festival is a 4-day celebration of horror at historic & iconic venues throughout New Orleans. Presenting superior film programming with an expanded focus on experiential events, the festival showcases exciting work in new and classic horror cinema alongside the latest in interactive and live shows for a fully immersive weekend. As a summer camp for genre fans, The Overlook is a community event bringing the best of horror in all its forms to an enthusiastic and appreciative audience within an intimate and inspirational environment.
